Summer solstice arrives without annual faerie festival fanfare

Berkshire Eagle File Photo

In June, the Faerie Queen and her court descend upon Adams to celebrate the summer solstice with all who will join them for a day-long celebration, known as the Berkshire Mountains Faerie Festival. The brainchild of local artists, the midsummer festival is full of fun art activities for every age and performers of every type — musical acts, magicians, puppeteers, storytellers, drummers, dancers and field buskers.

Although the festival was canceled this summer, the Faerie Queen and her magical volunteers are already planning next summer’s solstice festival.
